Masao was a woodblock printmaker whose art included more than ten pictures of flowers and fruits. Sixteen examples are shown below. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Masao drew a few of his flower and fruit subjects accurately (e.g., pictures 1-4) but the majority (e.g., pictures 5-16) were drawn creatively by distorting the subject’s shape and (or) by falsifying its colors.
